Bold Celebrates Six Months!

This past week, we celebrated six months since our Bold launch on Nov. 30 (Winston Churchill’s birthday, not accidentally). It’s been a journey full of highs and lows, and many news scoops along the way. We’ve been profiled in places such as CNN and Columbia Journalism Review, and called a “conservative Buzzfeed-a-like” by The Daily Mail. We’ve co-hosted a Congressional debate in Harlem, interviewed Speaker Paul Ryan at CPAC, grabbed an exclusive conversation with the new head of African-American outreach at the Republican National Committee, and collaborated with American Idol’s Clay Aiken on next-gen Cheddar TV, recently founded by former BuzzFeed President Jon Steinberg. On the lighter side, we’ve spoofed Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, a la SNL, been lampooned on The Daily Show and played political word association on Fusion TV.More importantly, we have given voice and a platform to a rising generation of business leaders and political activists. We’ve showcased Jopwell, the exciting, diverse, business-recruiting initiative, debated Donald Trump’s impact on Millennial minorities, including various African-American perspectives as well as Latino and Muslim voices. We’ve also profiled bold creatives, an amazing Latina Olympic-level fencer, two young women launching the “Uber for nutrition,” a formerly homeless Millennial who is now a successful entrepreneur and author, and African immigrant and author Martin Ganda, whose childhood pen-pal brought him from a Zimbabwean mud hut to living the American Dream in the Manhattan finance sector. We’ve also been excited…
