Today’s appalling shooting attack targeting congressional Republicans, which hospitalized House Majority Whip Rep. Mentally ill criminals come from all political ideologies, so blaming progressives for the violence doesn’t make sense. That said, we can and should proactively a culture that promotes understanding and empathy rather than alienation and dehumanization of anyone.
