Democratic Congressman Channels Trump: ‘You Punch Me in The Eye, I’m Going To Throw Another Punch’

As polling shows the midterm races tightening heading into Election Day, Democrats nationwide are grappling with messaging and whether they should take a more combative approach or follow former First Lady Michelle Obama’s mantra that “when they go low, we go high.” Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-N.Y.) from New York’s 13th Congressional District, prefers to channel President Trump’s campaign approach to “punch back ten times harder” if attacked by a political rival.
