Megyn Kelly on Free Trump Airtime: ‘We Have to Worry About Our Souls and Journalism’

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly told journalist Katie Couric at the 2016 Women in the World Summit in New York City that she was disappointed with other journalists’ decision to cash in on the ratings boost that Trump brings.  For example, Les Moonves, executive chairman and CEO of CBS recently said: “It may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS.”Industry experts estimate that Trump has received an estimated $2 billion in free media coverage.“This isn’t right,” Kelly said she told her team as they debated whether to capitalize off Trump ratings bumps. “When the post-mortem is done on the coverage of Donald Trump, wherever this race goes, let’s make sure we’re on the side of the angels … We don’t wallpaper the show with a Donald Trump campaign event,” Kelly continued. “Why? because we don’t do that with the other candidates. So it’s not fair … Yes, we all have to worry about numbers to some extent. That’s the reality of TV news in 2016. But we also have to worry about our souls and journalism.”Watch the exchange below:The post Megyn Kelly on Free Trump Airtime: ‘We Have to Worry About Our Souls and Journalism’ appeared first on Bold.
